This is embarrassing to be honest. I’m such a book hoarder, but this year I’ve put myself on a year long book buying ban (after 15 days, it’s going well!) so it seems like a good time to Beat The Backlist.

This is a year long challenge hosted by NovelKnight where you have to try get through your tbr between the 1st January and 31st December, and read books published in 2018 or earlier.

I’ll also be taking part in the Hogwarts mini challenge for Hufflepuff!

    OH MY GOD THE RELIEF I FELT WHEN I SAW YOU KEPT ADDING MORE.

    I was so gobsmacked. Absolutely unbelievably GOBSMACKED at the size of your TBR. It was so small, I was disgusted. Admittedly, even with all the additions you made it, yours is still far smaller than mine, which is why I could never in a million years partake in such a challenge. I have absolutely no self control whatsoever. HOWEVER, I’m proud of you, and good luck!

    Also, what’s the Hogwarts challenge?!

  3. Omg thats a lot of books to get through– good luck!! Do it for the hufflepuffs 💛
    I read all the light we cannot see last year and thought it was really good. The writing is excellent. And my friend has read we were liars multiple it’s her favourite. 😊

    1. I know – I don’t have any intention of reading them all this year, but I definitely needed the visual to remind me why not to buy more books lmao.
      Ooh, I know a lot of people who have loved All The Light We Cannot See and I’m so excited to finally get round to it! My friend really enjoyed We Were Liars, and I’ve read another of the author’s books which I liked so I think I’m in safe hands.

    A Discovery of Witches has been one I had wanted to get to for SO LONG!
    I enjoyed Miss Peregrine but didn’t love it as most did 🙂
    Looking foward to the review of a couple of feminist titles I see here sista!

      A Discovery of Witches was the first book I bought back in the UK after being away for 6 months so I’m weirdly sentimental about it aha! And yessss I’m excited to get my feminist on 🙂

  5. Hahaha so many books to get through! It’s reached a point where my tbr list is so long it’s actually overwhelming, yet I keep picking up new releases. Determined to get through the books I own/have been meaning to read before picking up a new book haha, have a fab reading year!

    1. Honestly, I’m hopeless – this is why I’m on a ban!!
      I can’t bear to check my kindle to see what’s on there!! I hope you manage to get your shelves organised, it was quite therapeutic to do mine although I was horrified at the amount I had ahaha.

  8. This is such a good idea but I’m not sure that I have the strength to write out a list. The guilt might be too strong. I’m trying not to buy any eBooks while I’m working through my fiction TBR but there are three non-fiction that I’m hoping to buy with some book tokens in the near future. I read less non-fiction though so when I do buy it, it’s usually with the intention of reading it straight away.

    1. Oh man, the guilt was real looking at this!! It doesn’t even include my kindle books which are embarrassingly multiple. I love book tokens or vouchers because they don’t count 😉
